SONG #25
5/5/92
    Blue Water (Baboon Farm)
The song is about suicide. The reaching up line is a death reference for Dave, and he's used it since BWBF (later Little Thing appearances). For the record, there was a small contingency (including me) who thought the song was about heroin use, but the references in the later Little Things clearly show that all the references are to death.

Guitar Tabs

walking by the river
i reach my hands to cup the sky
run down my arms a bitter blue
turn to red and the gashes grew

the river tastes me
i'm so much more
than i have ever been

take this my arms
take this my eyes
take this my mouth
and all it seems to be
completely true

wives and witches
turn her head in my way
wives and witches
and i leave you and crying
wives and witches
and man they say we are open wide
but no wives and witches
take and leave him
the way i leave him
wives and witches
no choice but to fold
one inside the other

and i leave her
by her own

walking by the river
i reach my hands to cup the sky
run down my arms a bitter blue
turn to red and the gashes grew

take this my arm
take this my eyes
take this my mouth
and all it seems to be
completely true

wives and witches
when i'm here seeing
them take our soul
and the ocean grow
no one no to lay me down
and light will shine
upon my soul
wives and witches
and the ocean i dig a
(?) for me
